Now's Not the Time

I don't believe in Writer's Block.

Usually, I get Writer's ADD. I want to write too many things at once.

Right now I couldn't give a damn if I wrote anything. This is what I call Writer's Apathy. I'm trying to work my way through it, but I feel like I've lost the spark for writing. Nothing's really exciting right now. I look at my stories and I see characters that need to be written, plots so riddled with holes they wouldn't hold water. Let alone a reader's attention.

I don't know. Hopefully, this will pass. In the mean time, I'll listen to more Daughtry and read ahead in my history textbook.

  1. You won't recover reading a textbook, surely? I hate apathy

  2. Well, I won't recover sitting at my computer surfing the internet either, and I'd rather get ahead on homework. :P Maybe I'll read something inspiring about the Founding Fathers.

  3. That sounds exhausting... I'm on the opposite side, just getting over flu and full of inspiration. I feel for you. Apathy is like an illness. Get better

  4. When I was writing, I had to stop writing for two whole months. Now, I know that doesn't sound very exciting, but it happens. Anyway, when I got back to my writing, I was so thrilled to have a couple fresh ideas and when I wrote, the words just flew out of my head through the pen and onto the paper.

Also, my friend calls Writer's Block Writer's Worries. There are many names for it, I guess. I like yours too. I will add it to my list....

  5. Oh, I hate that stage. I went through something like that recently. I'm sorry.

My personal opinion is that during those stages, it's good not to write anything. When I've tried to, the junk I turned out as a result only reinforced my apathy.
